What a long week

Mark and I are back from Dubuque. Dubuque is a very interesting place. It's a lot smaller and older than I thought it would be. I must say that if I never have to back, I would be a happy person. Everything with the funeral went off without a hitch. Mark was a paul bearer and did just fine. He's super shy so I didn't know how he would do, but of course, he pulled it off.

It ended up being a 12 hour drive which is much longer than we had thought it would take. Map.quest said it would take 9.5 which was not the case. On the way there, we caught some major Chicago traffic. It took us 1.5 hours to make it through Chicago. Needless to say we found a different way to go home which took us south of the city which worked out just fine.

On the baby making front, I am 9DPO and I have had some major pregnancy symptoms but I refuse to get my hopes up. At around 7DPO I was super tired, really hungry, cramping, heart burn, super sore boobs, and had to pee a lot. As I sit here and type this I still have heart burn which I only get when I am pregnant or have been drinking vodka. The latter has not happened tonight.

I know the odds are not in our favor since we used the pull and pray method but I know there is still a chance. I know it would be better for us to not be pregnant this cycle to give my body another month to heal but hey, a girl can still wish right?

On Friday I had my RPL testing done. They took a total of 10 vials of blood and some of them have to be mailed out so I expect results at the end of next week or the beginning of the next. I'm so glad I finally got this done! The script was written on May 5th so needless to say, I was ready!

A really good thing happened last week also, I got a job. I'm going to be working two days a week at a company that deals with the oil and gas industry here in PA. It's a company that works with DH and he was actually able to get me the interview. I'm really excited because I'm going to be doing pretty much the same thing I did at my company in Dallas which I loved. They said that once they see how it goes, they may add days, which is fine by me. DH and I could use the extra spending money.

That's pretty much all I can think of for right now. Tomorrow we are just going to lay around the house and be lazy. The house across the street that we were thinking about buying is having an open house so I think I'm going to be a nosy neighbor and go. Ha.

Have a good one!

  3. YAY!!!! Congratulations on your new job! Your symptoms sound very promising, when are you going to test? I know you guys weren't really trying this cycle, but if you do get a BFP how cool would that be? Good luck and keep us posted!
