Long time no post

So one of my lovely friends asked for an update so I thought I would oblige her!

Makayla is now 8 months old and I have no idea where that time has gone. She just started crawling this week and went from 0 to 100 over night. Unfortunately, that over night involved me being out of town and missing it. I feel terrible that the first time she crawled across the floor I was gone. I hate having to travel for work but it's only about once a quarter so I guess I can live with that.

Makayla now weighs 19lbs 3 oz and is 27 and 3/4 inches tall.

You know you are an adult when

You get elected to sit on the HOA (Home Owners Association) for your neighborhood. Actually, I'm really pretty excited about it. Anything I can do to ensure that my neighborhood stays in good shape and thus keeps the value of my house up, I'm all for it.

Unlike a lot of people in my neighborhood, Mark and I only plan to be there 7-10 years, then we will sell it, hopefully make a profit and move on to bigger and better things but a lot of the families in our neighborhood plan to stay there years and years. That's a concept that is strange to me, probably because Mark and I tend to move every one to two years.

Life is crazy busy but it's good. Both Mark and I are doing great at our jobs including getting some pretty great raises this month. I'm all about extra money!

The leaves are starting to change and the air is getting cooler so fall is on her way. I must say, I'm very very excited about fall/winter this year especially with the holidays having M in the picture. It's going to be a great next couple of months for us.

All the pieces are starting to fall into place in this crazy puzzle called life.

It took almost 2 years, but we are finally here!

New Mom Mobile

About a week ago Mark and I decided it was time to get me a new car. The trailblazer did not have 4 wheel drive so after the massive snow last year we knew that there was a new car in our future.

It came down to the Land Rover L4 or a Tahoe. Mark has a Tahoe and we love it but it seemed a little silly to own two of the same cars so we decided to go with the Land Rover.

I love it love it love it! The only downfall to it is the gas mileage. She sucks gas like a fish!

Hopefully the Land Rover will be a good car for me to tote M around in.

4 Months Old

First, how is it possible that Mark and I created this beautiful little baby? She is just so freaking cute! Of course, I am a bit prejudice.

M turned 4 months today and I find myself asking the question I think every parent ask, where does the time go? The answer, I have no idea.

Unfortunately, the rest of our year is so planned out that it's going to fly by.

We haven't been hom since M was 5-6 weeks old so needless to say she's going to look totally different to all of our friends and family. I can't wait to go home and show her off!

Makayla isn't rolling over yet and that is causing me a bit of concerned. She will roll up on her side but that's as far as she goes. We're going to the pediatrician the 16th so I'm sure I will ask her. I'm also going to ask about starting rice cereal. Some things say to start at 4 months and other say 6 months. Who knows what the right time is to do it.

I'm so glad that M is keeping her red hair. It's just so stinking cute!

Almost 4 months....

How is it possible that M is almost 4 months old?

She is a wonderful baby and super easy! Mark and I are very blessed. She has such an amazing personality also. She talks non-stop and just smiles all the time.

We have her on a fantastic schedule and she seems to really like being on it. For example, last night we were a few minutes behind putting her to bed. She would not stop crying so we just laid her down in bed and she immediately went to sleep. Crazy huh? Poor baby was upset because she wanted to go to bed!

Sick Baby

Well, M has her first cold and she can blame Mommy and Daddy for it. We have both been fighting a cold all week and sure enough, M came down with it this afternoon. She's going to be sleeping in our room tonight because it freaks me out that she might get so stuffy that she can't breathe and I couldn't hear her over the monitor.

I feel horrible that I got her sick. It just breaks my heart.

On a happy note, I can't believe that she will be 3 months old on Sunday!

Excited

I can not express how excited I am for Kaite! Her and her husband Mike have been trying for a baby since January 2008 and she just announced that she is pregnant!! Her and Mike deserve a baby more than anyone I know and they will be fantastic parents
